Justice meets Heavy Metal

Allerdings ist nicht die Musikrichtung Heavy Metal gemeint, sondern der Film Heavy Metal. Birdy Nam Nam hat diesen Film mit dem von Justice produzierten Lied “The Parachute Ending” in den Mixer geworfen und herausgekommen ist ein wirklich geniales Video:

Und zwar nicht zwischen den Fans, sondern zwischen Band und Fans!

Ein junger Mann, offensichtlich mit einer beneidenswerten Rachenstärke ausgerüstet, rotzte von der 5. Reihe aus permanent auf die Bühne und da Rotz ja nun wirklich nicht in unserem Bandnamen vorkommt, war das doch etwas sehr daneben.

Ich spielte also irgendein Lied von uns, weiß nicht mehr welches, schloss die Augen und sang. Und dachte plötzlich: Warum ist denn unser Sound so dünn? Häh? Das öffnen meiner Augen öffnete mir die Augen: Mein Bruder hatte seine Gitarre weggelegt, nahm Anlauf und sprang direkt auf Sir Rotz zu. Von der Bühne aus. Sofort entstand natürlich ein riesen Kuddelmuddel. Meine Bandmitglieder stürzten hinterher, selbst unser Mischer sprang hinterm Pult hervor und eilte zum Pulk.

Arctic Monkeys Web Transmission

Heute abend um 9:00 PM British Summer Time (22:00 Uhr deutscher Zeit) streamen die Arctic Monkeys auf webtransmission.arcticmonkeys.com irgendwas ins Internetz.

Wahrscheinlich wird ein Konzert übertragen, denn das neue Album “Humbug” (Amazon Partnerlink) wird am 21. August erscheinen. (via dasistdasen.de)

YouTube-Viral sorgt für Plattenverkäufe

Dieses fantastischen YouTube-Video mit dem zweitgrößten Aquarium der Welt, hat als Soundtrack einen Song der Indie-Band Barcelona (Wer es sich noch nicht angesehen hat, sollte das in Fullscreen und HD nachholen!). Als das Video zum Viral wurde und verbreitet wurde, gingen auch die Plattenverkäufe der Band durch die Decke.

Jetzt hat die Band auf YouTube eine Video-Response veröffentlicht, um sich bei dem Uploader zu bedanken, ohne dessen “Piraterie” sie nie so bekannt geworden wären. (via Nerdcore)

So, instead of demanding that YouTube pull the video, the band posted a response to the ‘Kuroshio Sea’ video on the site, thanking their new found fans and the uploader who posted the original video.

“We’re so flattered to learn that it features one of our songs called Please Don’t Go,” Barcelona’s lead singer Brian Fennell says in the video response.

“We want to let you know that it’s been affirming in the last week to watch in the iTunes store a correlation with the sales of our record ‘Absolutes’, growing in the rock charts as a result of having the song placed in the video,” drummer Rhett Stonelake added. (via torrentfreak)

blink-182 Reunion Tour – Flying Travis Barker

It’s kind of surreal how everything comes around ~ loved Blink 182 as a kid ~ and it turns out Mark Hoppus is a fan of NOTCOT ~ and when he invited me to their friends and family show tonight before they kick off the big reunion tour, i couldn’t say no! And it was awesome!

Die Reunion Tour von blink-182 startet offiziell am Donnerstag (23.07.2009) in Las Vegas. Gestern hat blink-182 aber bereits ein F&F-Konzert (Friends + Family) für ein paar tausend Leute gegeben. Notcot hat Bilder und Videos von der Show, bei der Travis Barker unter anderem während eines Solos mit seinem Drumkit durch die Gegend fliegt.

Weezer: The 8-bit Album

Nach dem 8-bit Album von Daft Punk hier nun auch das 8-bit Album von Weezer. Mir persönlich gefällt es besser als die Daft Punk Remixe, zum Reinhören hier mein Weezer-Favourite “Buddy Holly”:

Musiktipp: Billy Talent 3

Morgen, am 10.07.2009 wird das neue Album von Billy Talent mit dem kreativen Namen Billy Talent III veröffentlicht. Nachdem der vorzeitige Release vom März 2008 zurückgenommen wurde, ist es nun endlich so weit.

Ich konnte mir die Platte bereits anhören und finde, dass Sie zum Teil gut an den alten Stil anknüpft, aber auch neue Elemente enthält. Von ruhig über rockig, bis hin zu dem mit den Punk Rock-Veteranen von Anti-Flag aufgenommenem “Turn Your Back”, ist alles dabei. Mir persönlich gefällt die neue Scheibe von Billy Talent außerordentlich gut und ich kann sie jedem, der auf Punk-Rock steht, wärmstens Empfehlen.
